Events
Some events need more than something for people to watch. They need something that makes people want to join in.
Castillo Salsa brings Cuban dance, Latin rhythms and plenty of interaction to cultural events, local celebrations, hotels, holiday programmes and outdoor events. José doesn’t simply perform in front of an audience – he works with the people who are actually there, gradually bringing them into the music and onto the dance floor.
Depending on the occasion, we can create a Cuban salsa workshop, an interactive dance animation or a more energetic part of a larger entertainment programme. Sometimes people arrive ready to dance. Sometimes they’re just watching from the side or enjoying the rest of the event – until a few people start moving and the atmosphere begins to change.
That flexibility is important to us. A summer evening at a hotel needs something different from a local harvest festival, a cultural event or an activity for a summer camp. We adapt the format to the place, the audience and the programme you already have.
How it works
Tell us what you’re planning and we’ll look at where dance can fit naturally.
Send us the date, location, approximate audience size and a little information about the event, and we’ll suggest a format that makes sense for the space and the people you’re expecting.
The length, music and level of interaction can all be adapted to the occasion.
There’s a big difference between watching someone dance and suddenly realising you’re dancing too.
That second moment is what we’re looking for.
José introduces simple movements and rhythms that make it easy to join without feeling as though you’ve suddenly signed up for a dance class. With the right audience, this can develop into a Cuban salsa workshop. At a more open event, it can be much freer – dance animation, Latin rhythms, popular music and interaction with whoever happens to be there.
There’s no need to know salsa and no need to gather a group of experienced dancers beforehand. We start with the people in front of us and build the energy from there.
That makes the format work both for organised groups and for public events where people can simply join when they feel like it.

We work with cultural centres, municipalities, local organisers and other institutions looking for an interactive activity to add to their programme.
Castillo Salsa can become part of local celebrations, harvest festivals, cultural programmes, community days, summer events and outdoor events. The format doesn’t have to look the same every time. A scheduled workshop gives participants more time to discover Cuban salsa, while a larger public celebration may work much better with shorter dance animations that encourage people to join throughout the event.
We can stay close to Cuban music and salsa or open the programme up to other Latin rhythms and popular songs, depending on the audience and the atmosphere you want to create.
If you’re looking specifically for a longer dance workshop or regular classes, take a look at our Workshops & Classes offer.

Hotels, resorts and holiday venues give us plenty of possibilities to create something guests can actually take part in.
A Latin dance activity can become part of a summer entertainment programme, a themed evening or simply something unexpected for guests to enjoy together. We can organise an accessible salsa workshop, lead a dance animation or combine both – starting with a few simple movements and letting the atmosphere develop naturally from there.
Guests don’t need any previous dance experience or have to commit to a full course. They can simply join, try something new and enjoy the music.
For hotels, resorts and other venues running seasonal programmes, we can organise both one-off events and a series of activities throughout the season.

A Cuban dance workshop can also become a special activity during a summer camp, day camp or organised holiday programme.
Castillo Salsa can join the programme as a guest activity, combining dance, Cuban rhythms and plenty of interaction in a format adapted to the age of the participants. It can be a one-off Cuban dance workshop, an energetic afternoon activity or part of a larger themed day.
The aim isn’t to turn participants into salsa dancers in an hour. It’s to give them something different to experience together, get them moving and introduce a little Cuban culture along the way.
For activities aimed specifically at schools and educational institutions, including Language Days and school celebrations, see our Workshops & Classes offer.

Tell us what you’re planning and we’ll look at where dance can fit naturally. It might be a dedicated workshop in the afternoon, a guest activity in a holiday programme, a short interactive element between other attractions or an animation that gets people moving when the music and party are already underway.
The length, music and level of interaction can all be adapted to the occasion. What works for a small cultural programme won’t necessarily work for several hundred people at an outdoor celebration – and we treat those as two different situations.
If you already have a programme, DJ, presenter or other performers, we can coordinate our part with the rest of the event.
